Taking into consideration the areas these schools are located, usually they lack drinking water and sanitation facilities, posing a threat and endangering the health of the children. To combat this, Akshardhara has taken the initiative to build appropriate restrooms, bathrooms and water storage facilities equipped with RO Plants in various Zilla Parishad schools of Palghar district in Maharashtra & Ahmedabad, in Gujarat. Regular seminars with assistance of doctors are also being organized to teach children to maintain proper hygiene & sanitation for themselves as well as their environment to avoid diseases and infections.
